I am a Senior Lecturer (tenured Associate Professor) in Applied Mathematics, specialising in Fluid Mechanics, at the Department of Mathematics, and a researcher in the Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics, University of Manchester.
My research interests cover a broad range of fascinating flow phenomena with applications in industrial and environmental fluid mechanics. My current research ranges from the fluid mechanics of cleaning and decontamination, to drag reduction with superhydrophobic surfaces and the dispersion properties of turbulent jets, plumes and fountains. I am also the Leader of the UKFN Special Interest Group on the Fluid Mechanics of Cleaning and Decontamination.
