I'm a Senior Lecturer (tenured Associate Professor) in Applied Mathematics, specializing in Fluid Mechanics, at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Manchester, and a lab member of the Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics.

My research interests cover a broad range of fascinating flow phenomena with applications in industrial, environmental and geophysical fluid mechanics. Currently, I'm looking at research problems related to the fluid mechanics of cleaning and decontamination, the drag reduction of flow over superhydrophobic surfaces, spreading of surfactants in confined geometries and the dispersion properties in turbulent jets, plumes and fountains. Have a look at my research page if you want to know more!

I am also the Leader of the UKFN Special Interest Group on the Fluid Mechanics of Cleaning and Decontamination.
